Denise Moreno was born on July 14, 1986 in Madrid, Spain, to Luis Alberto, a renowned Spanish classical music producer and Chaplin, an American translator who had made Madrid her home. Denise grew up feeling equally comfortable both in European and North American cultures and considers both Spanish and English to be her "first languages". Denise accompanied her parents to concerts at the National Auditorium from age four onwards and her father encouraged her to study piano and ballet. Denise discovered early on that she had a passion for acting and continually staged shows at home. At age 12, she realized her ambition to attend acting classes at Cuarta Pared, an alternative theater company offering classes for young people. During high school, Denise continued to study dramatic art at different acting schools in Madrid and also did a summer course when she was 16 at the prestigious Gaiety Acting school in Dublin. At age sixteen, she was discovered by the top modeling agency in Spain, Traffic, and quickly signed by other international agencies including Ford in NYC. She quickly became a favorite with photographers appearing in Spanish fashion magazines, such as Vogue and Glamour, and in international publications including Marie Claire and Jalouse, France. In 2005, during her first summer working in Paris, Dior representatives taken by the singular beauty of her face immediately offered her a contract for the DIOR cosmetics campaign of Spring/Summer 2006. Denise continues to model under the name Denise Sommers. When she was seventeen, she was signed on by an acting agency impressed by the combination of her striking good looks, talent and ease in front of the camera. She began going to castings landing some bit roles on television until her first break came through a role in Manolete (2007) the film starring Oscar nominated Penelope Cruz and Oscar winner Adrien Brody. The intimate scene with the two award ing winning actors served as Denise's entry into the world of celluloid. Denise studied drama at the Madrid campus of University of Kent (Canterbury, U.K.)(2006-2008). Besides class work, she kept busy with outside theater projects with her comedy group La Simpania,(2006-2008) who performed live at café theaters and cultural centers. This special talent for comedy brought her to the attention of director Donald Petrie who cast her in the role of the spaced out 'Kathy' in a personal audition he gave for My Life in Ruins (2008).

"A Matador's Mistress" is a tragically eloquent dance of the cold brutality of uncommitted love and the high stakes of the Bullfight. Immerse yourself in the culture of Spain surrounding the age old traditions of the Matador. While the bullfight is controversial by today's standards, the ancient art-form is depicted with unflinching realism. The story is of man against beast, the bullfighter's zen, if you will; his nightly dance with death. A world-class lover enters his world; their code is their truth. Life being lived, edgy, relentlessly flirting with disaster, untamed, beautiful.
